Quinton Upshur Receives Honorable Mention for the StatSheet Big South Freshman of the Week - February 6th, 2012

Presbyterian's Al`lonzo Coleman has been selected as the StatSheet Big South Player of the Week for the week ending February 6th. Trey Freeman from Campbell has won StatSheet's Big South Freshman of the Week.

Coleman was the Big South leader in scoring (25.0 pts per game), rebounding (12.5 per game), and free throws (9.0 per game). He also put up great stats in shooting (60%) and assists (4.5 per game). The Presbyterian senior played well for the Blue Hose in victories versus High Point and Campbell.

Coleman led all scoring and rebounding for the Blue Hose with 21 points and 13 rebounds in a close 65-62 win over High Point. In the next game he led all scoring and rebounding with a 29 point and 12 rebound performance in a narrow 69-67 victory over Campbell.

This is the second time this season that Al`lonzo Coleman has been selected StatSheet Big South Player of the Week. He has also received an honorable mention. The runner-up this week is senior Chris Gradnigo from Coastal Carolina. Honorable mention goes to Matt Dickey, a senior from North Carolina-Asheville. The highest ranking player from Virginia Military Institute was Keith Gabriel who finished ninth.

StatSheet Big South Freshman of the Week: Campbell's Trey Freeman

Trey Freeman averaged 33 minutes of playing time while starting both games for Campbell. He was number one among all Big South freshmen in scoring (20.0 pts per game), assists (7.0 per game), and free throws (6.0 per game). In a late 62-57 win over Charleston Southern, Freeman led the Fighting Camels in scoring with 22 points and in rebounding with 7. In a 69-67 loss to Presbyterian, he led scoring with 18 points plus 7 assists.

Trey Freeman has won the StatSheet Big South Freshman of the Week an astounding 3 times. The runner-up is Arlon Harper from Charleston Southern. Our own Quinton Upshur takes honorable mention. Virginia Military Institute has won the StatSheet Big South Player of the Week award once this season.
